Patient Stories
At the heart of what we do are the people whose lives changed. Their accounts are more useful than any claim we could make on our own behalf.
In their words
“Before surgery, I couldn’t hold a glass of water. Now I paint again.”
— Gülay, 58, essential tremor
“After the procedure, I went back to teaching. My students noticed the change before I even told them.”
— Hasan, 42, Parkinson’s disease
Hear directly from patients and their families as they describe the journey through diagnosis, treatment and recovery — including the parts that were harder than expected.
Life after treatment
Healing does not stop at the hospital exit. What patients tend to remember is not the operation but the ordinary things that came back: signing a cheque, carrying a cup of tea across a room without a saucer, eating in a restaurant without choosing the seat facing the wall.
We ask patients, with their consent, to record short before-and-after clips — handwriting, pouring water, walking — because the difference is visible in a way that no percentage figure conveys.
Second opinions
A second opinion can provide clarity and reassurance — especially before a major treatment decision. The specialists in our network review existing diagnoses and treatment plans and offer a fresh, evidence-based perspective, so that patients can make an informed choice.
Second opinions are not only for disagreement. Three outcomes are common, and all three are useful:
- Your current plan is right. You proceed at home with more confidence and no wasted journey.
- The diagnosis needs revisiting. Most often this is the distinction between Parkinson’s disease and an atypical parkinsonism, which changes what surgery can offer.
- A different treatment fits better. Frequently this means medication optimisation rather than an operation.
The review is free and is done remotely. Send neurologist reports, recent imaging, a current medication list and symptom videos — the same records we would ask for before any evaluation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I request a second opinion?
Send us your records through the contact form and a coordinator will reply within one working day with a secure upload link. The review itself is free.
Will you tell me if I do not need surgery?
Yes. A second opinion that confirms your existing treatment is the right one is a legitimate result, not a failed consultation.
Can I speak to a former patient?
Some of our patients have agreed to speak with people considering the same procedure. Ask your coordinator — it depends on language and on who is currently willing.
Not sure where to start?
Send us your reports and a short note. A coordinator replies within one working day — no cost, no obligation.
