For international patients

Step-by-Step Guide

Seven stages, one coordinator. Here is exactly what happens, in what order, and what we need from you at each point.

1. Get in touch

Send a short message describing the situation — who the patient is, what the diagnosis is, and what has changed recently. You do not need medical vocabulary and you do not need to have everything ready.

A medical coordinator replies within one working day and tells you exactly which documents would let us give you a real answer.

2. Send your records

We will ask for neurologist reports, recent brain MRIs, a complete current medication list with doses and timings, and short videos of the motor symptoms recorded both “on” and “off” medication.

Records are received through a secure link and stored in our KVKK-registered systems. They are shared only with the clinicians assessing your case.

3. Free medical assessment

Our neurologists and neurosurgeons review the file together. You receive a written opinion covering the diagnosis as we read it, whether a surgical option is appropriate, which one and why, the expected length of stay, and itemised costs.

If we do not think a procedure would help you, this is where we say so. That is a legitimate outcome of an assessment, not a failed enquiry.

4. Planning and paperwork

Once you decide to proceed, we set the dates around surgical availability and your own circumstances, and issue an official invitation letter and treatment confirmation for your visa application.

We arrange accommodation near the hospital for the patient and an accompanying family member, and plan airport transfers. You will have a written schedule before you fly.

5. Arrival and services in Istanbul

What is handled for you once you land.

Pre-operative testing and imaging are repeated here — this is expected and necessary, not duplication. Your coordinator walks you through each appointment rather than handing you a list.

  • Airport pickup and transfer to your accommodation
  • Medical concierge — coordination of all appointments, diagnostics and consultations
  • Language interpretation, including a medical interpreter present during awake procedures
  • Accommodation within reach of the hospital, arranged for patient and companion
  • Local transport between hotel and hospital on treatment days
  • Assistance with pharmacy, documentation and day-to-day logistics

6. Treatment and recovery

The length of stay depends on the procedure: roughly 3–4 weeks for DBS, including the programming period, and 5–7 days for MRgFUS.

Rehabilitation runs alongside recovery, and medication is adjusted in parallel with device programming. You are not discharged into an empty schedule; every day has a purpose and someone accountable for it.

Flying home is cleared by the surgical team — at least 10–14 days after DBS, usually within a few days after MRgFUS.

7. After you go home

Follow-up is booked before you leave: video consultations and photo assessments at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months with the team that treated you.

We send your own neurologist the operative report, device details and settings, and the medication plan, so that local care is informed rather than improvised. If a complication or revision arises, it is assessed remotely first and, where necessary, your return is organised under the terms of your treatment package.

The same coordinator handles all of this. You should never have to explain your case from the beginning to someone new.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will someone reply to my first message?

Within one working day, from a medical coordinator rather than an automated system.

What if I do not have all the documents?

Send what you have. We will tell you what is missing and what actually matters — in most cases the symptom videos and the medication list are the two things worth chasing.

Can a family member come with the patient?

Yes, and for DBS we recommend it. Accommodation is arranged for both.

Not sure where to start?

Send us your reports and a short note. A coordinator replies within one working day — no cost, no obligation.
